McIntosh TradeUP:
A Thoughtful Way to Refine a System You Already Trust

McIntosh systems are chosen with intention.
They’re built to last, designed to be serviced, and meant to stay in a system for decades, not seasons. The McIntosh TradeUP program exists for owners whose listening needs have changed, not because their equipment has failed. It offers a limited opportunity to apply the value of eligible McIntosh two-channel components toward a new McIntosh purchase, without starting over or compromising the integrity of the system.

At HiDEF of NJ, TradeUP consultations are handled by McIntosh-trained specialists who understand both the equipment and the environments it’s used in. The focus is on accuracy, eligibility, and proper system matching—never pressure.

What the McIntosh TradeUP Program Includes

The TradeUP program applies to eligible McIntosh two-channel audio components only and is administered through authorized McIntosh dealers.

Key program details:

  • Applies to McIntosh two-channel electronics

  • TradeUP value based on original MSRP

  • Eligibility and condition verified in person

  • TradeUP value applied toward new, customer-ordered McIntosh components

  • Manufacturer-supported, limited-time program

TradeUP is not a general resale or trade-in offer. It is a manufacturer-supported program designed specifically for long-term McIntosh owners.

Why McIntosh Created TradeUP

McIntosh equipment is rarely replaced because it stops working, it’s replaced when listening habits, room layouts, or system goals change. TradeUP exists to support that moment.

Longevity by Design

McIntosh components are built for decades of enjoyment, service and support.

A Rare Program

McIntosh does not routinely assign formal trade value to legacy ownership.

Refinement, Not Reinvention

The goal isn’t new gear. It’s hearing familiar music with greater clarity and control.

How the TradeUP Process Works at HiDEF

TradeUP is handled entirely through an authorized McIntosh dealer to ensure accuracy and proper system alignment.

1. In-Person Evaluation
Eligible McIntosh two-channel components are reviewed to confirm model eligibility and condition.

2. TradeUP Value Confirmation
Value is determined based on original MSRP and program guidelines, then confirmed through McIntosh.

3. System-Appropriate Selection
New McIntosh components are selected based on how you listen today and how the room supports that experience.

4. Value Applied to Purchase
Approved TradeUP value is applied toward the new, customer-ordered McIntosh component.
